How It Started

I began painting graffiti in late 1989 as a teenager, heavily inspired by early graffiti that I had seen in Amsterdam in 1985 as a young kid.
Over the years I evolved into a street art muralist, working professionally as an urban artist since 2008.

Growing up in the southern region of the Netherlands, I was part of the first generation of graffiti writers in a struggling former industrial (coal mining) area — an environment that, despite its hardships, produced many of today’s well-known graffiti and mural artists.

At the time, the options felt stark: you either became an unemployed addict or a dedicated graffiti writer. I chose the latter.

About My Works

In my current designs, I draw inspiration from the human presence on this planet and the existential questions that arise throughout what we commonly call ‘human life.’ I often add elements of nature to metaphorically convey these themes, translating my narrative into the most compelling visual form.

Stylistically, my work is rooted in realism, yet it fluidly shifts into the surreal, often incorporating graphic and abstract elements. I gravitate toward organic shapes, which guide the flow and direction of my compositions, allowing the overall image to feel naturally cohesive and dynamic.

Symbolism plays a significant role in my work, helping to express the deeper layers of meaning and context embedded within each piece.
